Proposals and manuscripts are sought for a new series published by Camden House, an imprint of the academic publisher Boydell & Brewer. Mind and American Literature offers a forum for the publication of scholarly work investigating connections between literary texts and interdisciplinary inquiry into the broadly defined concept of mind. Books in the series will take a fresh view of American literature from any genre in the contexts of questions and considerations that have emerged from such fields as philosophy, psychology, biology, neuroscience, linguistics, and anthropology. The series is committed to publishing books written in clear and direct language, accessible to a wide range of educated readers.
Please send a prospectus including a 300-word description of the project, a table of contents (even if tentative), and a brief author bio to series editor Professor Linda Simon at lsimon@skidmore.edu or at English Department, Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Both finished manuscripts and well-conceived projects underway but not yet complete are of interest. Ideal manuscript length is between 65,000 and 85,000 words.
